Saw this movie the other day called “Culloden” and its absolutely mind blowing. If you’re even a little bit interested in British history, it’s a must see. The Battle of Culloden took place in 1746 and was the last battle fought on British soil and shaped the future for Britain and the world in the deepest and most significant ways. The Scottish Highlander’s were rebelling against the Royal British army to put their Catholic Jacobite king Charles the II on the throne. This is why I hate royalty and monarchies and why I think even the Royal family as a symbol should be removed from any position of significance. The British Royal Army killed 2,000 poorly trained, equipped and strategized Jacobites and destroyed the Gaelic language and culture in less than an hour while losing only 50 men. It’s done as if a BBC documentary were there at the battle and may just be the greatest war movie I have ever seen.
